I was invited to attend the TJ Maxx/Marshalls Red Carpet Event in New York yesterday. So first to start off, I was there with some amazing bloggers to share this experience.
In attendance other than myself:
Clarissa- thePoshpreneur
Karissa- Prissy Green
Shannon- For The Mommas
Nichelle- StyleMom
We started off at the new TJ Maxx store in New York and it is Huge! We were given a tour of the store and got some great behind-the-scenes info. Style expert Alison Deyette was there who was wonderful! She explained to all of us that everything in the stores is in style and in season. Anything that is not in season is labeled as such. Nothing is imperfect. So how do they get in season merchandise? Well, department stores will go around the world and find the designers items and will take a certain amount of them. However, department stores have to buy theirs months in advance. TJ Maxx also goes around the world to those same designers after the departments stores and they scoop up those same designer items that the department stores left and are able to sell them to us for a cheaper price. And TJ Maxx is able to get those items onto the selling floor within 2 weeks!! So, from now on when you go shopping at TJ Maxx or Marshalls and you find that fabulous Dooney & Bourke bag, now you know its still in season and you get could pay way more at a department store for the exact same thing! Also, most of the designer merchandise still have the designer tags on them. So you can compare the designer price to the TJ Maxx price. And its great when you see the amount of savings you’ll be getting.
After the TJ Maxx tour and lunch, we headed to Bryant Park where TJ Maxx and Marshalls launched “Carol-Oke” to benefit Toys for Tots. “Carol-Oke” is part of Youtubes new “Caroling Channel” which features two carols about off-price holiday shopping complete with lyrics. For every person who uploads a video singing one of the carols $1 will be donated to Toys for Tots. Also by uploading a video you are entered to win a variety of prizes.
And to help kick off “Carol-Oke” was Cory Monteith (Finn), Mark Salling(Puck) and Amber Riley(Mercedes) from GLEE!! We were given media passes and got to stand right in front of them on the stage and take pictures. And after we were able to interview them and get our pictures taken with them. There will be another post to follow about them
So all in all, my trip to New York was fabulous. And I encourage everyone to check out the “Carol-Oke” and upload a video of either you or your children singing those carols and help some kids in need out! Its so easy theres no excuse NOT to do it! Thank you TJ Maxx and Rocket XL for inviting me to this event. It was a wonderful time!

You have got to tell me how you get to go to these exciting places !! I totally wanna go next time!!
