New Years Eve in New Orleans

By now you’re probably wondering where I’ve been.  I haven’t blogged in about a week and that is so unlike me, i know.  But i had to deal with the craziness of the holidays (as we all did) and we had a great Christmas.  Hunter was completely spoiled rotten.  He got a snowboard from my mother which was the highlight of the holiday for him, most definitely.  Santa was not so good to me however….he and I are gonna have a long talk soon.  Anyways,  last monday after Christmas my mother took Hunter snowboarding for the week.

So since he was gone……..

I went away for New Years to New Orleans.   This was an all girl trip with some of my bestest blog friends, Trisha and Alicia from Momdot and Brittany from the Greer Five.  We had an absolute blast!  I couldn’t have rang in the New Year in a better situation.  A once in a lifetime opportunity that I am so grateful I had.   There was no drama,  no fighting, nothing negative at all!  Which is so rare when you have four women spending four days together.

This was my first trip to New Orleans and I will honestly say it most certainly will not be my last.  I absolutely LOVE this city.  Everyone is so damn happy and nice…its refreshing.  The food is incredible.  Seriously, if i lived there, I would have no doubt that I would gain like 400 lbs in a month.   We totally lived it up and ate at very expensive delicious restaurants and it was totally worth every penny.  We had beignets at Cafe Dumond….and they are better than their reputation.   I have been craving the food since i left…no joke.  I loved walking around the French Quarter (which is also where our hotel was) and seeing all the street performers and jazz music.  The art there is incredible as well.

New Years Eve in the French Quarter was INSANE.   You couldn’t walk on the streets.  The crowd was so big, it was more like you were being pushed through and if you fell….well R.I.P….you would have been trampled.  The only way to really describe it was like a wave, where you could just get pulled in by the current and swept away at any moment.  We drank yummy Hurricanes which were like $12 a pop but they were pretty damn big and has a shit load of alcohol in it.  I did flash my boobies for beads for us.  Yup, I’m a team player.  I’m also an adult and single and since i payed for these puppies, you can bet your ass they were coming out!

I did miss Hunter sooo much.  This was the longest I have ever been away from him…almost a whole week.  He lost both his front teeth.  And I swear he got bigger and more grown up over the week.  But….it is so good to get away for a girls weekend too.  So in a nutshell…that’s where I’ve been.  And don’t worry this is NOT the last post on New Orleans either, there are definitely more to come.  Trisha has some great videos posted on her site from the trip, like Alicia and I have a long ass drunk conversation, so you can check those out over at Momdot.
