I haven’t been ice skating in probably like 4 years, so yesterday I had this bright idea to go. Hunter hasn’t been in 4 years either and prior to that he had taken skating lessons. I’m not a bad skater at all. I don’t fall. I can go fast. But my poor son spent more time on his ass than on his feet. And what do you think i did?
I took pictures. Oh and was laughing hysterically.
Now before you go casting judgement and throwing at stones at me for being a horrible mother for laughing at my sons inability to skate, allow me to explain. He refused, refused to let me help him. He wouldn’t hold my hand or anything. And because the bigger kids were flying by him, he thought he could be “cool” and fly too. I kept telling him to slow down but he would literally start like running on his skates trying to go fast and wipe right out. It was funny. And he bounced right back up (probably so i couldn’t get a picture of him sprawled across the ice). His jeans were soaked through and his butt was bright red by the end of the hour.
Oh, and he loved every minute of it. He had a blast and wants us to go every weekend. I think he’s glutton for punishment or something. The ice is friggin cold and if i wiped out even once, i think i would be all set.

He’s so darn cute
I’d be the same way with my girls too.

That is so cool that he didn’t want help! & I don’t blame you for laughing & taking pics, i would’ve done the same thing!
Now that looks like fun! He wanted to be like the big kids-too darn cute that boy of yours!
Honestly, I don’t blame you for laughing!
It’s always a sign that they are growing up when they don’t want your help anymore.
Love it… laughing is good!! I laugh all the time when I am ‘not’ supposed to!!
I have an ice skating post also !!
