I have never been one for online dating. I’m not against it at all. It works for some people, I’ve seen it happen. I just could never bring myself to do it. Until now. Since I’m not going out and I’ve never really had much luck getting a substantial relationship from meeting a guy at a bar…i thought I’d give this whirl!
So Thursday night i joined a very popular dating website. Yup, Match. So i created a profile but didn’t subscribe. I wasn’t sure i wanted to fully jump into the online dating scene. So, by Friday afternoon I had already had 17 emails, been winked at 24 times, and had 9 interests. Unfortunately, when you don’t subscribe all you can do is wink, so its pretty pointless. I was still undecided on whether or not i wanted to fully commit. But of course, my curiosity got the best of me! I really wanted to see those emails. So I subscribed. Just for a month. I’ll give it a month and see how it goes.
Out of all those emails there were only 1 i liked. So i emailed back. We emailed back and forth a couple times until he finally im’ed me on Match. While we were im’ing i got im’ed by a couple other dudes. One was super duper HOT!! But he was such a dud! Seriously, no conversation skills whatsoever. But i was chatting with 2 guys that i did like. And now….i have 2 dates!
I have a lunch date today…like soon. And the other I’m supposed to go out with tonight but i don’t think I’ll have a sitter, so it may be postponed until Thursday. Yup, 2 dates in 1 day with 2 guys!! LOL!! But I’m not counting on it happening. So I’m getting ready for my lunch date, which by the way is probably the most awkward date. Trying to find something cute to wear, not easy. Getting a sitter last minute, never easy. But then again finding a sitter is never easy lately. So Hunter is gonna go to his friends house while i go have lunch, which is perfect.
Get ready to read some interesting material, I’m trying the online dating world! Oh and of course i plan on blogging every detail of every date!!

My sister and her husband met on match.com. She did all coffee dates to start with – low pressure, easy to escape if that guy was a total dud (or psycho) and it was in daylight

FUN!! Good luck!! I didn’t meet my DH with a service, but we did meet online. I had a lot of fun using a dating service though and got a few dates out of it. Nothing marriage material, but certainly entertaining! Can’t wait to hear all about it.
I found my love on plentyoffish.com. And actually I guess I should say I found him AGAIN – we have known eachother since we were 7, but because of POF we are hitched up for life! LOL I met some terrific guys on there though, and a girlfriend of mine has met some great guys too… OH and it’s free too. =) Good luck!
oh, and like Sarah said – ALWAYS have a Getaway call, LOL Yes guys know what that call is – but who cares?!! Some of the guys I went on dates with had a getaway call set up too! LOL
yay Blondie, I did match.com for a long time before I met dh. I had a LTR with one guy. One piece of advice if someone emails you that isnt a super duper match just give em a shot you never know and honestly some of the questions they ask when setting up a profile are soooo lame! Dont put to much stock into them
I’m on OKCupid.com. I mosey over there when I think about it, but I’ve been so busy these days that I don’t get there as much as I’d like to.
